Hyderabad: TPCC working president and MP A. Revanth Reddy said the fruits of welfare and development programmes were not reaching the people due to ineffective and inefficient administration by Chief Minister K, Chandrasekhar Rao.

Speaking to mediapersons on Tuesday at Delhi, he alleged that Mr Chandrasekhar Rao and his son and former minister K.T. Rama Rao were inefficient leaders according to the ranks given by Chief Secretary S.K. Joshi for various departments.

Mr Revanth Reddy said Mr Joshi had reviewed 20 departments in August in which the irrigation department was ranked eighth and power 11th rank. These are handled by Mr Chandrasekhar Rao, he said. The IT department, previously overseen by Mr Rama Rao, was ranked 18th. No department handled by Mr Chandrasekhar Rao and Mr Rama Rao had topped the list.

Mr Revanth Reddy alleged that Mr Chandrasekhar Rao had failed to develop the irrigation and power sectors. He alleged that the government did not appoint the chairman to the TS Electricity Regulatory Commi-ssion as it was scared that corruption in the power sector will be exposed.

He said that in the previous term, Mr Etala Rajender was finance minister but everything was looked after by Mr Chandra-sekhar Rao. “He borrowed thousands of crore and cheated the people with false promises,” he said and demanded that both of them apologise
