TS: More than 7 lakh appear for VRO exam for 700 posts

As many as 7,87,049 candidates took the recruitment examination to the post of Village Revenue Officers in Revenue department on Sunday. A total of 10,58,387 candidates registered for the recruitment examination to 700 VRO posts. Of the total applied, 10,03,177 had downloaded the hall tickets and 78.46 per cent of them took the exam. The Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) in a press release said the exam was peacefully conducted in 2,945 centres across 31 districts in the State barring two minor incidents.


It said seven candidates who were injured in a road accident at Nagarkurnool were allowed to appear for the examination with special initiative of district Collectors of Nagarkurnool, E Sridhar and Wanaparthy, Sweta Mohanty. In another incident, a candidate was apprehended by the police, while fleeing the exam hall during an inspection at Jogulamba Gadwal district, it said. The PSC said Warangal urban and Mahabubnagar districts witnessed highest percentage, where 83 per cent of candidates appeared for the exam whereas in districts like Vikarabad, only 29 per cent took the test.
