The Cyberabad cyber crime police have booked a case against a man for allegedly installing secret cameras in his house, to record his wife, and her family. The incident came to light after a woman techie from Hyderabad approached the police, and alleged that her husband was trying to extort money from her, and threatened to release nude footage of her, her mother and her sister. According to reports, the 26-year-old woman married in early 2016 and alleged that the husband began harassing her shortly after their marriage.

A report in TNIE adds that he even allegedly recorded their conversations and shared them with his father and brother. The Deccan Chronicle reported that the woman grew suspicious after he began repeating her conversations that she had with her parents in private. It was then that she checked the house, to find the cameras. However, the police said that the accused, identified as Praveen, may have deleted all the files, as they could not find any evidence on his laptop or phone.“As there was no evidence to substantiate her allegations, we could not register a case on the charges levelled against him. However, we did register a case under section 506 (intimidation) of the IPC against Praveen,'' Assistant Commissioner of Police (Cyber Crime) S Jayaram told TOI.

Last month, the Cyberabad police arrested a 33-year-old software engineer in Hyderabad, after he live streamed sexual acts with his wife, without her consent or knowledge. The man had been committing the crime for almost six months, before his wife realised and filed a police complaint. The police say that the man placed the laptop in such a way, that his face could not be seen, and also played something else on the screen, to con his wife. The man did this with the intention of earning money, as he had even registered himself with ***** sites, the police said.
