Hyderabad: After a youth committed suicide alleging that Tech Mahindra’s employees had cheated him and had taken lakhs on the pretext of providing a backdoor job, the company, in a rejoinder, claimed that the people named in the suicide note (Nageshwar Rao and Srinivas) had never worked with the company, directly or indirectly, in the HR/recruitment department.

Kukatpally police station sub-inspector P. Anil Kumar said M. Ganga Mahesh, 25, a BTech, commited suicide by hanging at his residence in Kukatpally due to depression after he was duped by the HR professionals of the reputed software firm.

“He paid lakhs to Tech Mahindra company’s HR professionals who promised him a backdoor entry job and was cheated. He wrote a suicide note mentioning the names of the men involved and shared his plight before taking the extreme step,” Mr Anil Kumar said.

However, Tech Mahindra officials said, “It is utmost saddening that Mr Mahesh did not verify the authenticity of the claims by these so-called mediators. Tech Mahindra has zero tolerance policy on such matters. As a policy-driven company, we have strict regulations and processes for recruitment and and honour commitments at all times.”
